Bracelet with a platinum anchor

Autor: Piotr Zieliński

This piece has been made for a sailing enthusiast who wanted a bracelet made of a decorative cord wrapped around a large anchor.

The design phase required me to get better acquainted with the field of maritime.  Based on pictures available on the Internet, I prepared a series of sketches containing anchors of various shapes and proportions.  Upon the client's further direction, I refined the design to include an unique Asscher cut diamond mounted in the lower part of the shank.

The Asscher cut was created by Joseph Asscher in 1902 and was the first patented cut. In 1908, his company was hired to cut the largest diamond ever - the 3106 carat Cullinan Diamond.

The anchor is 1.5" long. It has been made of 1.05 oz. of 950 platinum with a 0.25 ct diamond.
